Ling Gui Qigong & Taoist Nutrition with Master Liu He – Seattle

January 14, 2017 @ 1:30 pm - January 15, 2017 @ 3:30 pm

New Year is the time for making new resolutions, eating better for your system, and making the best choices that serve you and the world.
The first action to create this consciousness is to reset your Yin and Yang clock. Master Liu He states that all of our Yin and Yang Qi is misplaced due to our crazy modern life. This 2017 workshop will focus on Ling Gui Qigong and Taoist nutrition in order to support your movement in the world and start your year off with precision!

Ling Gui Qigong:  In China, the turtle is revered for the slow, gentle breathing and calm movements that contribute to the turtle’s very long life and honored for its deep connection with the universe and fundamentally spiritual nature.  Ling Gui or “Spiritual Turtle” Qigong strengthens the kidney functions that are so important to overall health and, in addition, guards against and soothes arthritis.  A standing form, Ling Gui Qigong combines slow, careful movements with energetic stretching, movements that can help increase resistance to the wind, cold, and dampness of the season.

Taoist Nutritional Theory: Food is a daily link to nature and a deeper meaning can be found beyond calories and nutritional properties. You will discover great value in your foods when applying Taoist medical theory for healing, building Qi and supporting your organ systems.

Food is your best medicine when you seek to heal yourself. Medication and herbs address one side of the healing process not a whole or complete healing. For a short period of time, you can ingest medication or herbs before damaging the stomach and experiencing side effects. Food is a safe way of healing as you eat food every day of your entire life.
Food therapy is considered whole healing. When you eat “right” for you, you can maintain good health and heal yourself. Eating in this manner will also help you support and maintain a healthy metabolism. When your metabolism is healthy and functioning well, the body absorbs the nutrients better. Medication & herbs can weaken your digestive system and slow down your metabolism. Join us for this lecture topic to learn how to support your food habits.
