Green Dragon Qigong and Internal Alchemy with Dr. Liu Dong – Livestream
As nature awakens in spring, it’s the perfect time to nurture and revitalize your Liver Qi. According to traditional Daoist practices, Spring is associated with the Wood element and the Liver, making it the time to focus on its health and harmony.
The Liver plays a crucial role in maintaining overall well-being. In Chinese Medicine (CM), the Liver is responsible for:
-
Smooth Flow of Qi and Blood: Ensuring energy and nutrients circulate freely throughout the body.
-
Emotional Balance: Regulating emotions like anger, frustration, and irritability.
-
Detoxification: Filtering toxins from the blood.
-
Storing Blood: Storing and releasing blood as needed.
-
Housing the Hun: Supporting the Three Hun—the subtle spirits of the Liver related to intuition and creativity.
Awaken and Smooth the Liver Qi: This practice involves gentle movements, mindful breathing, and focused intention to stimulate and harmonize Liver Qi. Regular practice can help:
-
Relieve stagnation and promote the free flow of Qi and Blood.
-
Calm the emotions and reduce stress.
-
Enhance detoxification processes.
-
Nourish the Three Hun and foster a sense of clarity and purpose.
Five Cranes Searching for Five Grains
A key element of this workshop is the internal alchemy method Five Cranes Searching for Five Grains. This practice uses symbolic transformation to nourish the five organs:
-
The Crane: Represents lightness, grace, and longevity.
-
The Five Grains: Symbolize the essential nutrients needed for health.
Through visualization and gentle movement, you’ll learn to guide the Crane to seek out and transform the Five Grains, nourishing each of the five major organ systems (Liver, Heart, Spleen, Lungs and Kidneys).
