SUMMARY:Zi Wu Qigong with Master Liu He - Damascus\, Oregon
DESCRIPTION:Zi Wu Qigong is a powerful Buddhist Qigong method that embodies the profound wisdom of the universe and has been traced back to the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907 AD).  By practicing this Qigong your Yin and Yang Qi becomes sturdier as well as restoring your lymphatic system’s power to defend your body against internal or external diseases. From this perspective Zi Wu Qigong is very effective for healing difficult health cases and chronic illness.  Another highlight of this Qigong\, creating an opening of your heart through chanting “The Great Compassion” mantra. The heart is known as “the emperor” who rules your entire body and guides everything you do.  When the emperor is happy\, you are happy and you will feel good. \n  \nThis Qigong form is most effective when practiced in the Zi and Wu time. The Zi and Wu cycle is found on a yearly\, monthly and daily basis.  On a calendar year basis Zi starts at the winter solstice\, which is when the first yang starts; and Wu begins during the summer solstice\, which is when the first yin starts. On a monthly basis Zi is the time of the new moon and Wu is the time of the full moon. On a daily basis Zi is the time between 11pm – 1am and Wu is the time between 11am – 1pm.  From this we can see that Zi and Wu are at the transition points between Yin and Yang. \n  They are opposite and complementary as are Yang and Yin. Zi and Wu reflect the cycle of growth and decline of Yin or Yang. Starting at Zi\, during the first cycle\, Yin reaches its maximum and Yang is at its birth. After that\, Yang increases and reaches its maximum and Yin is at its birth. \n  \nWe know Yin and Yang are connected. This means they are turning\, changing and circling\, therefore\, the energy moves in the body according to a schedule. The emphasis is on time and timing. Life advances through cycles of day and night but there are larger cycles of months\, seasons\, and years\, and all these are interwoven with the cycles of yin and yang\, and of the five elements. This is a way to understand the energetics resulting from this matrix of influences\, and to create change by strategic choice of Qigong\, acupuncture\, Feng Shui\, ect. . \n  \nPracticing at the Zi Wu time is known as “stealing the secret from the universe” because it puts you in sync with nature’s cycles. Our lives are governed by nature’s cycles\, and when we practice this form we sync with nature\, allowing us to heal quicker and experience smooth transitions. In Chinese medicine\, time and timing are crucial to creating positive change.  When you do something is as important as what you do. \nFriday 3-6pm \nSaturday 9am-12pm\, 3-6pm \nSunday 9am-12:30pm \nTuition:  $275 \nSome lodging available on-site. Please contact us for additional information. \nTo register\, download the registration form and mail in with your tuition or pay on-line via Paypal. \nAll Fees once paid are non-refundable\, they can be transferred to another class. \nWhereas when Qigong is properly practiced\, it is extremely beneficial and presents minimal risk to one's health\, please consult your physician if you are in doubt of your capabilities or have special health concerns. \nDownload Registration Form \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:One Thousand Hands Buddha & Eight Treasures Qigong
DESCRIPTION:One Thousand Hands Buddha is a superior\, spiritually healing Qigong method.  This Qigong form was inspired by the symbolic positioning of Buddha’s fingers\, referred to as “mudras” by Buddhists.  It is a method that produces calmness and keeps the heart from “galloping away”\, leading the practitioner into a state of silence and peace\, a little at a time.  This meditative Qigong form alleviates suffering\, fortifies energy\, calms the heart and helps the spirit attain wisdom. The method also helps fight stress and strengthens the memory. \nEight Treasures Qigong (Ba Duan Jin) Ba Duan Jin is one the four oldest and most famous Qigong methods in China. This form dates back to the early 12th century where it evolved as a popular folk healing practice. It was originally developed for monks practicing meditation to address the joint problems they developed after long years of sitting meditation practice. Eight routines of this form are designed to build strong bones\, increase tendon flexibility\, strengthen particular organ-energy systems and heal the seven emotions.

SUMMARY:Seven Day Liver Cleanse - Portland
DESCRIPTION:Our livers are being over-taxed by stimulation and pollution that is prevalent in our culture and environment. The pollutants in the air we breathe\, the water we drink\, and the food we eat all strain our livers\, as does the over-abundance of visual stimulation. Because of the daily impact of our busy 21st century lives\, it is important to cleanse or purify the liver on a regular basis. In Chinese medicine\, Spring is associated with the Liver and the most optimal time to cleanse.  After the deep\, inner energy of the dark Winter\, daylight increases and the energy begins to spread. The energetic function of the Liver is responsible for the free flow of qi and blood in the body. With a polluted and stressed Liver\, the flow of qi and blood is constrained. When this occurs\, one may experience mood swings\, gynecological issues\, anxiety\, depression\, chronic fatigue or eye issues. This form will assist in releasing the symptoms and promote the liver to healthy optimal functions.

SUMMARY:Hui Gong III - Reconnecting to Yuan Shen - Registration Full - Wait List
DESCRIPTION:Wisdom Qigong is a Taoist style practice that has been handed down for over 2\,000 years and has recently been used by the Traditional Chinese Medicine physicians. \nIts function is to develop wisdom and bring out the human potential.  The form focuses on bringing the mind-heart to tranquility by cleansing.  It replaces the train of many thoughts with one thought by using the mind to guide the qi through the five solid organs.  The goal is to wake up the spirits within the five organs — shen in the heart\, hun in the liver\, po in the lungs\, yi in the spleen\, and zhi in the kidneys — so these spirits recover their full functions and gain back their natural rhythms.  This is the self-healing power! \nThis method awakens the five spirits\, then reconnects to harmonize relationships between all the spirits and brings about true healing

DESCRIPTION:According to Taoist philosophy\, a restless heart can disrupt the “shen” or spirit\, causing an imbalance of the nervous system\, causing loss of sleep. This weekend workshop will feature Qigong TuiNa healing techniques to harmonize the “shen” and .  The weekend will also feature Sleeping Buddha Qigong with the main goal counteracting insomnia by imitating the gesticulations of Maitreya Buddha. “His big belly can house the affairs of the world. When he opens his mouth it is to laugh and his laugh spreads to all the people of the earth.” Dr. Liu Dong was inspired by this philosophy in designing this series of exercises. By stretching the four members and massaging some specific points the practitioner provokes a deep yawn\, thus nourishing the heart\, calming the spirit and allowing for a nourishing and restful sleep.

SUMMARY:Six Sounds Therapy - Portland
DESCRIPTION:Six Sounds Therapy is one of the oldest Qigong methods in China. While bringing the mind into powerful harmony with the Qi\, students will learn how to stabilize the five emotions through the sounds and movements of each organ system. It is an outstanding method for promoting personal health and well-being.\nThe Six Sounds used (Xu\, Si\, Chuai\, Ke\, Hu\, and Xi) resonate with the organs and have been used for thousands of years to harmonize the internal organs and their spirits with the universe. When the five organs are vibrated by these sounds\, negative emotions are gently release and the Qi in the organs that has been tied up in these emotions is restored to a positive state. We feel brighter and lighter inside and our negative thoughs are replaced by positive thoughts. This is how emotions heal.
